What: Launching a Technology Product in Today's Healthcare Market

Who: Dr. Friðrik Lárusson, SoundLines

When: Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, 5 p.m.

Where: Virtual (Zoom meeting)

Starting a new business is not for the faint of heart, and healthcare technology adds additional layers of complexity.  Artificial Intelligence and machine learning hold great promise to reduce workloads, but in many cases they do not live up to expectations or are too expensive and constrained to build.  Friðrik Lárusson will discuss his experience creating SoundLines, which combines automated methods and the work of highly skilled medical scribes to ease the documentation burden and allows physicians to see more patients and provide better care.

Friðrik Lárusson is President for Product at SoundLines.  Prior to that, he was a Senior Engineering Lead with Intellectual Ventures / Global Good, where he helped develop stationary and portable vaccine cold-chain devices for applications in low and middle-income countries.  Friðrik has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University.

Schedule and format:

5 p.m. start. There is less need to wait for people to trickle in after being delayed in traffic, so we're starting on time.  The Zoom meeting room will be open at least 10 minutes beforehand.

Pupus: as we will be virtual, feel free to have your own drinks and pupus. Please mute your microphone when crunching on chips!
